Holbein Gum Arabic Watercolour Medium

Gum arabic is the medium that binds watercolour together and gouache paints together. You can use This quality gum arabic in small quantities to give greater luminance and a slightly shinier appearance (careful - don't use too much, or the drying ability of the paint will suffer). 

You could create your own paints using this with raw pigments too.
